Sergeant Major Charles Lafon Todd

Sergeant Major Charles Lafon Todd, US Army, Retired, age 90 years of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina formerly of the Cane Valley Community in Adair County, KY passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the East Cooper Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
He was the son of the late:  Rollin Hurt Todd and Mary Sublett Todd.
He served thirty-three years with the US Army and was a veteran of World War II.  After his retirement as a Sgt. Major with the US Army, he managed an apartment complex in Winter Park, Florida for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife:  Mary Richard Owens Todd of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two daughters: Paula A. King and her husband, Ronald of Summerville, SC, Natalie Todd Petry and her husband, Robert of Houston, Texas; one son: Charles R. Todd and wife Margaret of Hillsboro, New Jersey; six grandchildren: Lori Baete, Dana Todd, Rebecca Todd, Amy Fox, Tiffany Murphy and Megan Todd; and by nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons: Allen D. Todd and Dr. Gerald M. Todd. Also Preceded in death by two brothers: George Todd and James Todd; two sisters:  Alva Todd and Nancy Todd Mazine.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY  with Rev. William Davenport officiating.
Interment in the Cane Valley Cemetery with military honors presented  by VFW Post 6097.
