Irene H. Royse, 96, formerly of Columbia, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 3:15 p.m. at the Metcalfe Health Care Center in Edmonton. A native of Metcalfe County she was the daughter of the late Noah Jackson and Emma Sherman Demumbrun Hamilton, the widow of Ores Royse, a member of the Columbia Baptist Church and a retired beautician. She is survived by a step-son, Richard and his wife Donna Royse of Jeffersonville, IN; one sister, Inez Estes of Edmonton; two step-children and one step great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Two brothers and two sisters, Joe Henry and Lester Hamilton and Flossie Piper and Ella Shirley, preceded her in death. Services were held Friday, May 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Johnson and Bro. Greg Estes officiating. Burial in Edmonton Cemetery. Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. |
