An Adair County woman seriously hurt in an accident on KY 551 last Monday has died as a result of her injuries. Forty-eight-year-old Theresa Hagan of Columbia died Thursday morning at the University of Louisville Hospital, where she had been flown by air ambulance following the accident. According to Adair County Sheriff Ralph Curry, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office ruled that Hagan died as a result of injuries that occurred in the accident. The accident occurred at 11:10 a.m. Monday, May 5, on KY 551. Hagan, operating a 2001 Buick, was traveling south on KY 551 when she dropped off the shoulder of the road, overcorrected, came back onto the roadway then went into a ditch on the southbound side of the roadway and struck a culvert. Hagan’s death is the first to be attributed to an automobile accident that occurred in Adair County this year. Hagan was a native of Georgia. Her obituary can be found above. |
