The Louie B. Nunn Parkway was closed for several hours early yesterday morning after a three-vehicle collision resulted in the death of one of the motorists. According to the report from Metcalfe County Sheriff Ronald Shirley, the accident occurred three miles west of the Edmonton exit in the eastbound lanes at approximately 4:54 am Wed. morning. Shirley stated that a 1996 Oldsmobile suddenly stopped in front of a 2002 Ford Explorer being operated by John Cleveland of Franklin, KY resulting in a rear end collision. As a result the Oldsmobile spun and came to rest sitting side ways in the roadway. According to the report a 2005 Freightliner operated by Gary Crutcher of Antioch, Tenn. did not see the Oldsmobile in time and struck the vehicle in the passenger side killing the driver. The name of the deceased driver has not been released until family could be notified; neither of the drivers of the other vehicles was injured during the accident. |
