Elva Firquin England

Elva Firquin England, age 92 years, of Columbia, KY passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 3,52 PM at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, Kentucky after several weeks illness.
She was the daughter of the late, Guy and Beatrice Coomer Firquin of Adair Co. KY.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe England on March 11, 1989.
Survived by one son, Max England of Louisville, KY one daughter, Ricky Clutterbuck of Columbia, KY two brothers, Guy Firquin of Louisville, KY and Jimmy Firquin of Columbia, KY one sister, Jewel Kerns of Louisville, KY four grandchildren, Eric England, Sonya Worthington, Melissa Hurrigan, Kimberly Bailey; four great grandchildren, Kelsey Hurrigan, Matthew England, David England, and Clint Bailey.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Rev. Joe Firquin and Ruby Bell.
Mrs. England was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Society, member of the Eastern Star # 435 and a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, she was a retired school teacher of the Adair County School System where she taught for 34 years.
Funeral service was held Monday, September 1, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Jones and Rev. Troy Elmore officiating.
Interment in the Haven Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, Juvenile Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association
