ADAIR NATIVE Dies IN TAYLOR CYCLE CRASH
An Adair County native who had resided in Taylor County for the past several years was killed in a motorcycle accident near Campbellsville Saturday afternoon. Forty-nine-year-old Ricky “Rolaids” Rawlings, of Elkhorn Road, Campbellsville, died as a result of injuries sustained when his motorcycle wrecked at 6:10 EDT Saturday on KY 527 approximately one mile from Campbellsville. According to the police report, Rawlings, operating a 1981 Honda, was traveling north on KY 527 when he lost control of his motorcycle in a curve, ran off the northbound lane and struck a tree. Rawlings suffered head and leg injuries and was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital by Air Evac, where he was later pronounced deceased. Rawlings was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, which was investigated by Taylor County Deputy Sheriff William Rice.
