The Adair Progress was established in April 1987 with the purpose of providing fair, accurate and timely news coverage of events affecting the everyday lives of residents of Adair County and the surrounding area, and to serve as the best medium for our advertisers.
The Adair Progress, which is locally owned and operated, was established by Donna Rogers Hancock and Paul B. Hayes, both of whom remain in their roles as publisher and editor, respectively, 20 years later.
The Progress began as a weekly publication, but has evolved into a bi-weekly, publishing every Tuesday and Thursday. The Adair Progress also publishes the Adair Russell Shopper which is mailed to every box holder in Adair and Russell Counties. We also publish the Casey County Shopper which is mailed to all of Casey county and some of the Hustonville area.
We strive to keep our readers informed on the latest news concerning local government, schools, sports, agriculture, public affairs, and community events.
The Adair Progress is a member of the Kentucky Press Association.
