DELTA STARGEL

Delta Stargel, age 88 years of the Millerfield Community of Adair County, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 6:30 a.m. at her home after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Joe Clayton and Amanda Claybourn Goodin of Adair County, KY. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Gordon Stargel of Columbia; one son, Phillip Stargel and wife, Faye of Columbia; four daughters, Marba Coomer and husband Albert of Ramsey, IN, Wanda Stargel and Keith Burton of Columbia, Sue Loy and husband Dan of Campbellsville, Geneal Abrell and husband Charlie of Columbia; one brother Wesley Goodin of Columbia; four sisters, Reba Mcllwain, Ella Newland, both of Columbus, IN, Margaret Miller of Columbia, Juanita Warren of Columbia; nine grandchildren and three step grandchildren, five great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren; and special nephew, Danny Goodin of Columbia. She was preceded in death by these infant children, Judith Anne Stargel, Jeffrey Stargel, and Rodney Stargel. She was also preceded in death by Rev. C.D. Goodin, Anna Lou Goodin, Leonard Goodin, Joseph Junior Goodin, and Stanley Goodin. Mrs. Stargel was a member of the New Hope Separate Baptist Church and was retired from Union Underwear in Campbellsville, KY and a homemaker. The funeral service was held Monday, October 23, 2006 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. David Coffey officiating. Interment was in the Tarter Cemetery in Russell County, KY.
