Martha Hale
Martha Hale, age 70 years, of 1335 Jamestown St., Columbia, passed away Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2:50 P.M. at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She was the daughter of the late Emit and Nevada Combest Hammond of Russell County. Survived by her husband, Nathan Hale of Columbia, KY; one son, Mark Hale and his wife Michele of Glensfork, KY; two daughters, Jennifer Holland and her husband Bill of Russell Springs, KY and Monica Davis and her husband Dean of Anderson, South Carolina; two sisters, Marsha Howard of Campbellsville, KY and Marlene Blair of Russell Springs, KY; two grandchildren, Summer Bertram and Andrew Sturgill; several nieces, nephews and a host other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by two brothers, Marion Hammond and Morris Hammond. Martha was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, had worked at Ben Franklin, Mana Shoes and Wall-Mart in Columbia. Funeral service will be today, Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Garry E. Jones, Rev. P. T. Barnum and Dr. David Blair officiating. Interment in Hale Cemetery in Russell County. Pallbearers will be Sammy Blair, Jr. Feese, Bruce Loy, Ricky Shelton, Mike Loy, Chuck Sharp. In lieu of flowers expression of sympathy may take the form of a donation to Scleroderma Foundation or The Gideon International Memorial Bible Program and may be made at the funeral home.
