Walter A. "Jug" Pyles

Walter A. "Jug" Pyles, age 84 years, a resident of Summit Manor Nursing Home formerly of 549 Millerfield Road, Columbia, KY (the Millerfield Community) passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 3:42 AM at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY.
He was the son of the late Jim & Mae Bryant Pyles of Adair Co. Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Belle Hagy Pyles on March 21, 2008.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Capps of Shepherdsville, KY three sons, Ronnie Lee Pyles of Columbia, KY, Kenny Pyles and wife, Demaris of Columbia, KY Tony Pyles of Erie, Michigan three brothers, Rollin Pyles of Columbia, KY, Aaron Pyles of Campbellsville, KY, Howard Pyles of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Altha Burton of Columbia, KY, Lyla Pyles and Clara Jones both of Campbellsville, KY four grand-children, Sara, Rhonda, Tabitha and Angela and nine great grandchildren several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by these brothers and sisters, Hobert Pyles, Finis Pyles, Vitis Pyles, Kennith Pyles, James Pyles, Robert Pyles, Claris Pyles and Bonnie Rice.
Mr. Pyles was an automobile mechanic for many years and attended the New Hope Separate Baptist Church. He was a U S Army World War II veteran.
Funeral service was held Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. David Coffey officiating.
