Oral Thomas

Oral Thomas age 92 of Nelson County, KY passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008 the Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, KY after several months  Illness.
He was born in Casey County to Logan and Lucy McDonald Luttrell Thomas.
He served in the US Navy as a Seaman, Second Class, and retired from work as a delivery truck driver at Allied Sash and Door in Louisville.
He also worked part-time as a driver for Around the Town Carriage in Bardstown and was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church in Cox’s Creek, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Dale and Doc Thomas, Two brothers Ernest Luttrell and Otis Thomas, two infant brothers and two sisters, Bertha Lay and Bessie Pettyjohn.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 45 years, Helen Lou Frankum Thomas of Cox’s Creek, KY; three sons:  Callis Thomas and Richard Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio, Steven Thomas  of Cambridge, Massachusetts; two daughters:  Freida Gosser of Russell Springs and Carol Wilson of Somerset, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held  Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11 a.m. Central at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY  with Rev. Eugene Wilson officiating.
Interment in the Haven Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Nelson County (111 North Third St. Bardstown, KY  40004) or the charity of your choice.
Grandchildren served as pallbearers.
