Frank E. Slinker, Sr.

Frank E. Slinker, Sr., 87, of Columbus, GA died at St. Francis Hospital Sunday, March 02, 2008.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 05, 2008 in the Chapel of the Pines, Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Roy White Officiating. Burial followed in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mr. Slinker was born September 28, 1920 in Milltown, KY. He was the son of the late Edward J. Slinker and Nellie Frances Parrish Slinker. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Pearl Harbor survivor and had retired after 20 years of distinguished service with the U.S. Navy Submarine Service. After retirement from the U.S. Navy, he began work as a Master Electrician for Ft. Benning and later was Electrical Contractor with F&B Electrical. Mr. Slinker was a member of Edgewood United Methodist Church, a 33rd Degree Mason in the Rosehill Masonic Lodge #484 and a member of the Scottish Rite. He had served as the past Grand Master of the Rosehill Masonic Lodge #484 and was involved in the Loyal Order of the Easter Star. Mr. Slinker was also involved in numerous Senior Citizens organizations. We will miss him deeply, but we will cherish his memories in our hearts. Mr. Slinker was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva McLaughlin Slinker and his second wife, Willodeen Wilson Slinker; a son, James Wessel Austin and a grandson, Stephen McLaughlin Slinker. Survivors include his daughters, Libby Slinker Farr and her husband, Bert of Columbus, GA, Pamela
