Truck-Tractor Collision Injures 4

Two Adair County men were taken to hospitals in Lexington and Louisville and two teenagers to Westlake Regional Hospital following a collision involving a pickup truck and farm tractor Tuesday night on KY 80 East.
According to Adair County Deputy Sheriff Charles Greer, the accident occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. Tuesday three miles east of Columbia on KY 80.
Michael Stearns, 38, of Columbia, was operating a Case International farm tractor and was traveling east on KY 80 and Allen Trent, 46, of Columbia, operating a 1998 Dodge dually pickup was also traveling east when he struck Stearns'tractor in the rear end. The impact knocked the tractor off the road and ejected Stearns.
Stearns was transported to Westlake Regional Hospital by the Adair County EMS and later transported by ambulance to the University of Louisville Hospital.
Trent was taken to Westlake Regional by the Adair County EMS and later transported by ambulance to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
