Six People Indicted By Adair grand Jury
An Adair County Grand Jury returned indictments against six individuals in Adair Circuit Court last week. Michael F. Damaschke, 44, was indicted in nine separate charges in connection with an incident that occurred on May 17 at a residence near the Gradyville community. Damaschke was charged with assault third degree for intentionally causing harm to Trooper Jamie Richard. He was also indicted for being a persistent felony offender in the second degree; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; carrying a concealed deadly weapon; resisting arrest; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; disorderly conduct, second degree; and public intoxication. Also indicted were: •Brenda Sue Overstreet-Geib, 59, charged with two counts of wanton endangerment first degree, one count of criminal mischief third degree, and one count of DUI, first offense. •Nathaniel D. Abney, 24, charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, first degree - second or subsequent offense; possession of a controlled substance, third degree - second or subsequent offense; operating a motor vehicle while license is revoked or suspended for DUI - aggravating circumstances; DUI; promoting contraband, first degree; possession of marijuana; possession of controlled substances not in the original container - second or subsequent offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia - second or subsequent offense. •Michael L. Smith, 49, charged with the illegal sale of alcohol in a dry territory, third or subsequent offense. •Jennifer Alvarado-Ovalle Montgomery, 29, charged with flagrant nonsupport for failure to pay $7,235 in child support. •Donald D. Wadley, Jr., 33, charged with flagrant nonsupport for failure to pay $9,200 in child support, and for being a persistent felony offender in the first degree. An indictment does not determine guilt or innocence, it is only a formal charge.
