Three Indicted For Burglarizing Homes

An Adair County Grand Jury has indicted three men in connection with two home burglaries that occurred in late March in the Cane Valley area.
Indictments were returned Tuesday against 25-year-old Michael A. Bernard, 21-year-old Brandon K. Polk and 19-year-old Matthew Derek Otterson in connection with a break-in that occurred at the residence of Brenda Dulworth. Bernard was indicted for the break-in at the residence of Chad Burton.
Bernard was indicted for one count of burglary first degree, one count of burglary second degree, two counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition over $300, one count of criminal mischief third degree, and four counts of being a persistent felony offender first degree.
Polk was indicted for one count of burglary first degree, and one count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition over $300.
Otterson was also indicted for one count of burglary first degree, and one count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition over $300.
In an unrelated matter, Michael Bernard was also indicted on charges of promoting contraband in the first degree, illegal possession of a legend drug, and another count of being a persistent felony offender first degree for allegedly bringing drugs into the Adair County Regional Jail.
Indictments were also returned against the following individuals on Tuesday:
•Martie Allen Henderson, Jr., 20, charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled substance first degree-cocaine, first offense, and one count of being a persistent felony offender second degree.
•Cristine Marie Luttrell, 28, charged with one count of burglary second degree, one count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition under $300, and one count of criminal mischief first degree.
•Ashley Brent Stacy, 22, charged with one count of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia - second or subsequent offense, one count of possession of marijuana, and one count of carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
•Nathaniel D. Abney, 24, charged with one count of promoting contraband in the first degree and one count of possession of marijuana.
•Jeffrey D. Galloway, 42, charged with one count of flagrant nonsupport.
An indictment does not determine guilt or innocence, it is only a formal charge.
Four sentenced
to prison terms
In action in Adair Circuit Court Tuesday, Judge James Weddle sentenced four individuals to prison terms.
Jason Veach was sentenced to prison terms on several different charges.
Veach received 18 months for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, two years for wanton endangerment and two years for each of two counts of driving while license was suspended or revoked for DUI, third offense. The sentences are to run consecutively for a total of seven and one-half years.
Veach also received a sentence of 12 months for carrying a concealed deadly weapon, 12 months for two counts of terroristic threatening third degree, and six months for DUI third offense, with these sentences to be served concurrently with the others.
Lori Loy was sentenced to three years for theft by deception over $300, with probation being denied.
Kelly Miller Wooldridge Turner was sentenced to seven years for complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance, probation denied.
Charles Scott McFarland was sentenced to three years for escape third degree, probation denied.
