The Adair County Band has teamed up with Rex's Cycle to host a motorcycle poker run this Saturday as a fundraiser to help send the band to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in November.
The sign-up for the run will be at Rex's Cycle from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and will then guide riders on a ride through Adair, Casey and Russell Counties before heading back to Rex's for a cookout and prize giveaways.
According to band booster Shamarie Claiborne, organizer of the event, the best hand will receive a 20% payout and a Harley Davison blanket, a 10% payout and a Harley Davison blanket for Worst Hand, and a 50/50 drawing.
In addition to the poker hand winners there will be several door prizes handed out including: 11 Harley Davison Blankets, two sets of two Gun Town Mountain passes, a Winchester knife set, a free oil change, two bagged tool sets, numerous single tools and a number of items from Rex's Cycle Shop, Napa, PJ Cycles, as well as several gift certificates to local restaurants.
There will also be awards for the prettiest bike, most ugly bike, oldest rider, youngest rider, and an award for the one who came the farthest for the ride.
The run will conclude at Rex's where hamburgers, hotdogs, and drinks will be provided while the hands are tallied and door prizes are given away.
