CAMPBELLSVILLE SHOOTING LEAVES ONE DEAD

The Campbellsville Police Department is investigating a murder that occurred early Sunday morning.
According to a news release, the incident occurred at approximately 1:03 a.m. EDT Sunday. Officers were dispatched to Clem Haskins Boulevard  to a reported victim of a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, the officers located the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The male victim was transported to Taylor County Regional Hospital, where he died as a result of injuries sustained during the altercation.
As of press time yesterday, names of the victim and perpetrator had not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The case is being investigated by CPD Detective/Sergeant Patricia Thompson. The Kentucky State Police and Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue Squad also responded to the incident.
Two killed Sunday in Monroe County
Kentucky State Police from the Columbia post are investigating a double homicide that occurred Sunday in Monroe County.
At approximately 8:42 a.m. Sunday, Monroe County Dispatch contacted the KSP Post about a double murder that had occurred at 149 Sulphur Lick Road.
The first KSP officer arrived on the scene at 8:44 a.m. and discovered the bodies of 29-year-old Nicholas Butler, of Poplar Log Church Road, Tompkinsville, and 47-year-old Jackie Eubank, the owner of the residence.
After initiating an investigation, KSP Det. Israel Slinker arrested Paul Howard Walden, of 1008 Columbia Ave., Tompkinsville, and charged him two counts of first-degree murder. Walden was lodged in the Monroe County Jail.
Autopsies of the victims are pending. The investigation is continuing by Det. Slinker.
