Ky. Supreme Court Denies Review of Mayoral Election Appeal

The Kentucky Supreme Court has denied review of the Court of Appeals Decision in Ben Arnold, et al. v. Adair County Board of Elections, et al.

The ruling could be the final part of the judicial proceedings that has been ongoing since the 2014 Columbia Mayoral Election. With the ruling, Columbia Mayor Curtis Hardwick will remain mayor. Hardwick said he is glad that the Court made the ruling and looks forward to continue serving as Mayor of Columbia.

The ruling was entered on December 8, and Hardwick said he received notice of it Wednesday morning. Dr. Ben Arnold, who ran against Hardwick as a write-in candidate in the 2014 election, said that he is "not sure" what the next steps are and he is "puzzled" by the decision.
